TIE Advanced Repaints

I just wanted to show you some of my older TIE Advanced repaints πŸ™‚

They are quite simple but have a really nice effect on the gaming table. I did these guys up about a year ago when I was experimenting with different shapes and mostly black and white paints. For the basecoat I started using spray paints and had just bought a black and a white spray primer that I really wanted to try. Imperials seem a much better fit than the other factions for obvious reasons πŸ˜‰

There is not a lot of detail on these guys as I didn’t use any shading or highlighting on them and at the time I wasn’t too confident in my painting skills either. I could probably add some details or highlights now but I kinda like the “purist” feel to them and it reminds me of a simpler time…

The patterns were done with simple painting tape (any tape will do) and quite a lot of cleaning and touching up after removing the tape. You have to be careful with painting the black patterns over the white model as it is much harder to correct any mistakes with white paint over a black base coat. Darth Vader was kept in simple black with some silver drybrushing and silver cockpit.

I hope you like these TIE Advanced repaints and would love for you to let me know what you think in the comments below πŸ™‚

Happy painting everyone and as always…

May the paint be with you
